“Die Magie der Fotografie oder das Geheimnis herausragender Bilder” by Martin Zurmühle was awarded: Silver in category “Fotolehrbücher”. Martin developed a new theory to understand the secrets of outstanding photographs. For the Chapter “Still Life” he used numerous pictures from my portfolio. The English edition will be available next year. Visit www.fotobuchpreis.de for more details.

Chestnut, a tasty fruit inside their spiky capsule. The fruit can be peeled and eaten raw, but it can be somewhat astringent, especially if the pellicle is not removed. Another method of eating the fruit involves roasting, which does not require peeling. Roasting requires scoring the fruit beforehand to prevent undue expansion and “explosion” of the fruit. Once cooked, its texture is similar to that of a baked potato, with a delicate, sweet, and nutty flavor.
These and more of my images can now be found on Photolibrary and Monsoon Images.

BP’s LOGO
In response to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, Greenpeace was calling on all designers to create a logo for BP to show the company that it is not “beyond petroleum.” They’re up to their necks in a toxic sludge that has become the worst oil spill in U.S. history. This is one of those possible ways – not only for designers I thought – to speak up to the society. So I created this work. Now you can vote for the new face of BP. – See more:
